My top ten music playlist is a remedy for those low energy days. When I’m in the throes of writer’s block or working out knots in the story I’m writing, nothing beats listening to my favourite music. I fall for songs that let my imagination wander. Anything which brings me into a new world is an instant hit for my playlist.
True Love, Coldplay
Any day listening to Coldplay is a good day. They never fail to uplift me with their heartfelt and whimsical style. This track is one that I can play over and over again without getting tired of its wistful sound and beautiful message.
If You Were Here Tonight, Alexander O'Neal
A man who creates musical magic, Alexander O'Neal pulls at my heartstrings with his melancholy ballad. Told with such honesty and soul, you cannot help but be inspired by his craft.
We've Only Just Begun, Carpenters
Karen's stunningly delicate lead vocals take me on a journey of discovery and hope. I can let my mind wander and find new pathways around plot holes I am encountering.
Disguise, Eleanor Dunlop
I get chills every time I hear the hauntingly pure, thoughtful timbre of Eleanor Dunlop’s voice. The perfect escape to free my mind and refresh my senses.
One Day Like This, Elbow
I want to throw my curtains wide open when this blasts through my earphones. It's like catching a sunrise across the ocean on a clear summer morning.
Baby, Come to Me, Patti Austin and James Ingram
There's nothing more soothing and cheering than a classic love ballad. Austin and Ingram's beautiful voices draw you into the story and make you want to sway with the music.
Against All Odds, Phil Collins
Listening to Phil Collins is a bit like finding the life coach you always wanted. His music makes everything seem so much brighter.
Precious Times, Daz Rice
Captivating. Passionate. Poignant. This talented artist's work is my go-to for sparking the imagination. His music inspired me so much that it features in Book 3 of my Hamptons Series, Fame and Fortune. Find out more about Daz Rice and his incredible music at www.dazrice.co.uk.
Wonderful Tonight, Eric Clapton
Almost meditative, this song revives me when my batteries are running low. It takes me to such a calming space for a moment of pure peace.
Running Up That Hill, Kate Bush
Who isn’t blown away by this powerhouse of a song? A masterclass in storytelling by one of my favourite artists.
Wishing you much inspiration and a beautiful, musical summer!
Much love,
Tina-Marie xoxo
